Xplain, a plain-language description feature, deciphers cryptic navigational symbols into plain language everyone can understand. For example, a light on a paper chart may be described as R FL R 4S. The Xplain feature, for this same light, provides a popup window that explains: Red lateral buoy having a red flashing light with a period of 4 seconds. Xplain is available for every object on the chart.The IC Intelligent Clarity feature automatically filters the on-screen presentation at every zoom level to provide a clear, uncluttered display of all essential navigational data.
