Starring Gwyneth Paltrow and directed by her father, Bruce Paltrow (A LITTLE SEX), DUETS dives headfirst into the bizarre musical world of karaoke. Six amateur singers gather for the Grand Prize Karaoke Contest in Omaha, Nebraska, each performing for their own personal reasons and displaying his or her own unique and special talents. Among the motley crew are a karaoke hustler (Huey Lewis) and his estranged showgirl daughter (Paltrow), a miserable white-collar executive (Paul Giamatti from SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and PRIVATE PARTS), and a sweet-voiced ex-con (Andrew Braugher)--all who stand a chance at the $5,000 prize. Paltrow showcases her surprisingly strong singing voice in a duet with Huey Lewis, as well as in a smashing rendition of Paula Abdul`s Forever Your Girl.

Blow Dry (DVD)
The British Hairdressing Championship is coming to the small Yorkshire town of Keighley. The Mayor (Warren Clarke) is ecstatic--but initially the townspeople are underwhelmed. The exotic models and their even more exotic hairdressers arrive--among them reigning champion, Ray Robertson (Bill Nighy). The Mayor is disappointed when there is no local entry, especially since Keighley is the hometown of ex-champion, Phil Allen (Alan Rickman). But, Phil stopped competing when his model, Sandra (Rachel Griffiths), ran off with his wife, Shelley (Natasha Richardson). Shelley has cancer, and discovering it is terminal, she tries to reunite her family--Phil, their son Brian (Josh Hartnett), and Sandra--by entering the competition. Phil refuses. However, needled by the confident Ray, Brian enters on behalf of the family. Soon, they are cutting hair together again.
Director Paddy Breathnach maintains the delicate balance between the pathos of Shelley`s illness and the breathtaking flamboyance of the hairdressing competition, as it goes from outrageous camp to gorgeous fulfillment. Alan Rickman is splendid--especially when the phlegmatic Phil returns to competition with flashing scissors and tattooed feet. Natasha Richardson is touching as she fights to regain her family. And Rachel Griffiths gives a powerful performance, apparently in support, until she becomes the family`s fabulous golden angel.R"

Lt. A.K. Waters (Bruce Willis) and his elite team of Navy SEALS have their work cut out for them when they are dispatched to war-torn Nigeria with orders to rescue an American citizen, Dr. Lena Kendricks (Monica Bellucci). The mission is pretty cut and dry except for one glitch: Dr. Kendricks will have to abandon the natives to whom she has been providing healthcare and those that work in the mission where her rudimentary hospital is located. Of course, Dr. Kendricks refuses to leave without her people, forcing Lt. Waters to choose between completing his orders as directed or putting the lives of his men on the line by helping the refugees cross the border to Cameroon on foot. To complicate matters, the group is being pursued by militant guerillas who destroy everything in their path. Willis is in top DIE HARD form as Lt. Waters, a touch-as-nails military man who confronts his conscience and makes decisions that surprise even him as he finds himself influenced by the stubborn Dr. Kendricks. Directed by Antoine Fuqua (TRAINING DAY), this film offers an enlightening and disturbing look at the conditions that permeate war-torn countries.

This series follows Mayuko, a poor college student living in a tiny apartment above a bathhouse. Unfortunately, her already cramped living situation is further complicated by NieA, a 7th class under-alien who lives in her closet and has made a hobby of constructing complicated alien technology from Mayuko`s trash. The stressed out Mayuko finds she has entered a warped version of THE ODD COUPLE, and must figure out how to fit in study time in between trying to cope with the maneating plants and curry wars conjured by NieA`s considerable powers.NR"

A special collection of film icon Marilyn Monroe`s greatest films, ranging from the musical extravaganzas GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES (1953) and THERE`S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS (1954) to Billy Wilder`s farce THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH (1955) to the romantic comedies HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE (1953) and BUS STOP (1956). Both the VHS and DVD box sets include a bonus sixth feature, MARILYN MONROE: THE FINAL DAYS, a documentary about the star`s unfinished final film project, SOMETHING`S GOT TO GIVE. This romantic comedy, directed by George Cukor and co-starring Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse, was plagued with production difficulties and went over schedule and budget until Marilyn was fired. Forty minutes of footage, including Marilyn`s famous swimming-pool scene, have been restored for this special never-before-seen presentation.
