Kevin`s best friend Rod (Fatone), an ad executive who also fronts a 1980s metal cover band, helps to plan and execute the search for Abbey. The boys put up posters all over Chicago. Their search bears unexpected fruits: as various women who are not Abbey respond to the posters, Rod and his friends reap the benefits. The media catches wind of the story, and the shy Kevin becomes a minor celebrity, a city-wide posterboy for romance. Does Kevin get the girl in the end? You know the answer.
