This teen psychodrama directed by John Polson plays like a Generation Y version of FATAL ATTRACTION. Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) is a high school swimmer with an incredibly promising future. On the verge of securing a scholarship to Stanford, and in love with the too-good-to-be-true Amy (Shiri Appleby), Ben seems to have it all. But the arrival of a new student threatens to ruin everything Ben has worked so hard to attain. Temptation arrives in the form of Madison Bell (Erika Christiansen), a beautiful, sultry cellist whose overt sexuality is too much for Ben too handle. In a fit of passion, he succumbs to her advances, but is immediately wracked with guilt. Trying to eradicate his mistake before it can escalate any further, Ben confronts Madison. To his dismay, he discovers that she has formed an abnormally strong attachment to him. Soon, Ben has been accused of taking steroids, fired from his hospital job, and targeted by the police for trying to kill Amy. With the help of friends, Ben must find a way to expose Madison and stop her reign of terror. Polson`s entertaining film is fueled by an amped hard rock soundtrack and Louis Febre`s moody score.

The Good Thief (VHS)
Irish director Neil Jordan (THE CRYING GAME, MICHAEL COLLINS) and veteran actor Nick Nolte combine their talents for this breezy heist picture. Bob (Nolte) is a retired master thief and gambler living as an expatriot in France. His past robberies are the stuff of underworld legend, but he`s given it all up, and fallen into a twilight life of heroin addiction and seedy gambling dens. Then a chance encounter with an attractive young runaway (Nutsa Kukhianidze) inspires him to clean up his act and take one last big job; an elaborate modern art heist at a swanky Riviera casino. Standing in his way is a cagey police inspector (Tchiky Karyo) who is determined to bring him down, even though the two are longtime friends. The twisty caper plotting compliments a fun cast (including Emir Kusturica and Girard Darmon as two of Bob`s brothers in crime), clever dialogue, stylish direction, and pretty Riviera scenery. Loosely modeled on Jean Pierre Melville`s BOB LE FLAMBEUR, this is something of a pet project for Jordan and it`s obvious he`s invested himself into every detail of the production. The result is both elegant and warmly quirky. As for Nolte, he seems to be having a terrific time; the charming old rascal role fits him perfectly, and Kukhianidze proves his match with an aplomb beyond her years. Ralph Fiennes has a small role as a disreputable art dealer.R"

Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock join up in the action-packed buddy movie BAD COMPANY. When CIA undercover operative Kevin Pope is killed during tense negotiations for a nuclear weapon, agent Gaylord Oakes (Hopkins) recruits the man`s twin brother, Jake Hayes (Rock), to take his place and prevent the bomb from getting into the wrong hands. The problem is that Hayes, a streetwise kid who scalps tickets and hustles people playing chess in the parks, didn`t even know he had a twin--and now he has only nine days to learn to impersonate his impeccably dressed, well-educated, well-trained agent brother. Rock is funny in this fish-out-of-water story as Hopkins tries desperately to transform him--something he considers to be an impossible mission.
Joel Schumacher, the director of such well-regarded films as TIGERLAND and FALLING DOWN, ups the action quotient as Oakes and Hayes and their determined crew (including Gabrielle Macht) travel to locations ranging from Prague to New York to save the world. Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, from NYPD Blue, plays Hayes` love interest, and Peter Stormare is the evil Vas. Hopkins and Rock make a great pair; Hayes is as loose as a goose, and Oakes is as tight as a drum. But as they get to know each other--and get thrown into dangerous situation after dangerous situation--they both discover a little something about life and love.PG-13"
