Based on the best-selling biography by Richard Ellman, this unconventional biopic traces the brilliant, witty, and tragic life of Oscar Wilde from his rise to fame as a much-in-demand author and public speaker to his downfall and ultimate imprisonment for homosexuality. Irish-born and homosexual, Wilde (Stephen Fry, in a critically lauded performance) nevertheless takes a loving wife (Jennifer Ehle), with whom he has children. While married, he becomes aware of his true sexual identity after a chance encounter with an aggressive house guest. This leads to a very public affair with vain, rebellious young Lord Alfred Douglas (Jude Law), the son of the Marquess of Queensbury (Tom Wilkinson, IN THE BEDROOM). Despite an astoundingly successful writing career, Wilde`s private life lands him in prison for gross indecency, a synonym for homosexual behavior, which was illegal in England at the time.

Street Fighter II V - DVD Vol. 1 (DVD)
STREET FIGHTER II V is an animated television series based on Capcom`s popular series of fighting games. Though most animes that are based on videogames, especially fighting games, are notoriously bad, STREET FIGHTER is an entertaining series that features excellent animation, astounding fight scenes, as well as a number of engaging story arcs. The series begins as Ryu leaves Japan at the behest of his old friend Ken to come to America and travel the world with him, picking fights along the way and improving their skills. Their first stop is, of course, Hong Kong, where the beautiful and talented Chun-Li takes them to a tournament at Kowloon Palace that ends disastrously. Contains episodes 1-7.NR"
True Colors (DVD)
This riveting portrait of political society and scandal in high-brow Washington, DC, stars James Spader as Tim Garrity, a socially responsible young man from the upper-middle classes who is engaged to the daughter of the influential and powerful Senator Stiles; and John Cusack as Peter Burton, a boy from the wrong side of the tracks with ambition to burn. Both are enrolled at the University of Virginia Law School in 1983. They become roommates and friends quite by accident, and differences in their individual pursuits of a political career drives them apart. Taking the Reagan-era credo of greed to heart, Burton ruthlessly claws his way up the political ladder in his effort to get elected to Congress. In the process, he betrays Garrity by stealing his fiancie (Imogen Stubbs) and then becomes involved in shady dealings with a corrupt businessman (Mandy Patinkin). Garrity, principled but passive, stands by while Burton chews up and spits out everyone and everything in his path--until Burton turns on Senator Stiles (Richard Widmark), forcing Garrity to finally take action against his friend.R"

Kaaterskill Falls (DVD)
In Josh Apter and Peter Olsen`s KAATERSKILL FALLS, Ren (Hilary Howard) and Mitchell (Mitchell Riggs), a young professional couple, embark on a romantic weekend in the Catskill Mountains of New York. However, their plans are derailed when they decide to pick up Lyle (Anthony Leslie), a lone hitchhiker. Although they let him off a few miles up the road, Lyle later reappears in front of their cabin. Ren and Mitchell invite the quiet stranger in for drinks and dinner, and the unlikely trio engages in liquor-fueled storytelling and conversation. With no place else to go, Lyle stays the night in the cabin. However, tensions that have slowly built between the cell-phone-toting Mitchell, the repressed Ren, and the chain-smoking Lyle come to a head on a hike the following day, leading to shocking events at the high peak of Kaaterskill Falls.
This independent thriller was shot in only 13 days on a tight budget with a small crew. The three actors largely improvise their dialogue, furthering the film`s openly do-it-yourself aesthetic. Apter and Olsen skillfully set the tone with spare, color-saturated photography that enhances the beautiful but seemingly deserted mountain setting, while a foreboding tone is gradually established by the actors` performances and the atmospheric music of Minneapolis-based musician Steve Tibbetts. A testament to what can be done with minimal resources, KAATERSKILL FALLS succeeds as an intriguing lo-fi take on the suspense genre.NR"
