Based on a true story, SCHINDLERS LIST is Steven Spielbergs epic drama of World War II Holocaust survivors and the man who unexpectedly came to be their savior. Unrepentant womanizer and war profiteer Oskar Schindler uses Polish Jews as cheap labor to produce cookware for the Third Reich. But after witnessing the violent liquidation of the walled ghetto where the Krakow Jews have been forced to live, Schindler slowly begins to realize the immense evil of Nazism. When his employees are sent to a work camp, they come under the terrorizing reign of sadistic Nazi Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes). With the help of his accountant, Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley), Schindler creates a list of essential Jews. Bribing Goeth, Schindler manages to get 1,100 people released from the camp and brought to the safety of his munitions factory in Czechoslovakia. Spielberg`s glorious film is wondrously evocative, visually stunning, and emotionally stirring.

When free-spirited but juvenile Walter Gib Gibson (John Cusack) meets studious, uptight Alison Bradbury (Daphne Zuniga) at an unnamed Ivy League college, sparks fly; unfortunately, they are mostly of the disastrous variety as all of Gibs attempts at courtship fall painfully apart. Inevitably, the duo is tossed together when they both answer the same ad for a ride to California. While Alison is traveling to reunite with her tidy law school boyfriend, Gib is on the road to meet a beautiful girl whom his best friend promises him is a sure thing. Before too long, Gib and Alisons bickering inflames the driver, who promptly deposits the two with their suitcases on the side of a lonely highway thousands of miles from their destination. As the misadventures pile up, the initially contentious pair begin to take a liking to one another, but do these two dare fall in love?
Rob Reiners initial attempt at romantic comedy pays subtle homage to the classic screwballs of early Hollywood with gentle lyricism. The film is buoyed by the stellar performances of the two leads, Cusack (in one of his first significant roles) and Zuniga, reminiscent of the great studio pairings of the past.
