Broken Dolls/Helter Skelter (DVD)
Former European actor Don Martin has taken his dysfunctional family and retired to The Paradise, a remote island that they have all to themselves. After a few years, the family disintegrates into a group of unhappy, spiteful individuals, each with their own agenda. They stick together, though, because of the promise of a treasure that Martin has promised them all. Martin, however, has begun to show signs of mental instability. Is there really a treasure? And is the family truly alone on the island? This release of this American production for Euro-horror legend Jess Franco also includes his loose 2000 Marquis De Sade adaptation, HELTER SKELTER.NR"

THE EYE, directed by twin brothers Danny and Oxide Pang, is a Chinese/Thai horror film that focuses on Mun (Sin-je Lee), a cornea-transplant recipient who has been blind most of her life. As Mun adjusts to her newfound sight, she begins to see haunting visions of dead people. As these terrifying visions become more frequent, Mun turns to a young psychiatrist, Dr. Wah (Lawrence Chou), for help. Eventually the two track the identity of the deceased eye donor to Thailand, and there the mystery is finally brought to light.
With THE EYE, the Pang brothers enter the increasingly populated subgenre of contemporary Asian horror. Drawing on the visual language of recent Japanese films such as RING and PULSE, as well as Hollywood films THE SIXTH SENSE and STIR OF ECHOES, this chilling tale implies more than it reveals, building a deep sense of dread, even from the opening credits. Although the I-see-dead-people plotline has been investigated numerous times, THE EYE manages to put a different lens on the idea through subtleties in the story and the charismatic performance of the radiant Sin-je Lee. Featuring scenes that will make all viewers wary of elevators, hospital recovery wards, and calligraphy, this film offers truly startling moments that will linger in the mind`s eye for a long time.R"

Tell Me Something (DVD)
A box-office smash in its native South Korea, TELL ME SOMETHING is a grisly crime thriller and a sly satire of the casually inept South Korean Police. Han Suk-kyu stars as Lieutenant Cho, a down and almost out cop under investigation for corruption and haunted by the death of his mother. Put in charge of the investigation of a series of gruesome murders in which skillfully dismembered corpses are being found in garbage bags around Seoul, Cho`s detective work quickly leads him to an icy but beautiful woman named Suyeon Chae who has been involved with each of the victims. Carefully guarding her memories and, most probably, information crucial to identifying the killer, Suyeon both charms and infuriates the weary Lieutenant Cho.
Atmospheric, graphically violent, and darkly humorous, TELL ME SOMETHING is a riveting thriller in the vein of David Fincher`s SEVEN. This film, along with 2000`s CHUNHYANG, LIES, and NOWHERE TO HIDE, marks the international resurgence of South Korean cinema and proves that its country`s filmmakers are as relevant and accomplished as their more established counterparts around the globe.NR"
